The Oak Tree-Applegarth PTA was established in May of 2009. The main objective of the PTA is to provide funds necessary for programs, activities, and materials needed throughout the year. The PTA provides assembly programs, family events and fundraisers and activities during the school day. School supplies like assignment books and folders are also funded by the PTA.
The PTA provides an opportunity for you to get involved in your child's education. Parent volunteers help provide needed services throughout the school year. Some volunteer opportunities are for short term (participation is for a few days or weeks) while others are on-going commitments throughout the school year. Opportunities to volunteer are available to fit every schedule. Please consider signing up to volunteer.
Many people ask what the PTA does for the students and staff. Here is a small list of what the PTA provided last year as we returned to school as the pandemic ended.
The best way to help support efforts like this is to become a member. Even if you don't have time to volunteer.

Secured a generous donation from Staples & Staples Connect
Worked on securing all summer and was able to pick up the items this fall for both of our schools.
The donation was very generous, as it was valued at just under $10,000. All items were dispersed to Administration, staff, support staff and students.
✏️Approx. 900 give back boxes-each box was packed full of supplies.
Every box included 2 expo markers, 2 highlighters, 2 pens, 8 pencils, 1 glue sticks, 1 bottle of glue, 2 easers, 1 sharpies
✏️1,248 small 2oz desk sized sanitizers
✏️ Approx. 600 8oz containers of sanitizers for classes, office, cafeteria, gym, nurses etc.
✏️ 4,608 pkgs. of pocket sized tissues. 24 cases Given to both students, teachers had to hand out, nurse and guidance also had them on hand to hand out packages to students/staff.

Meet your teacher & administration- It featured hayrides, corn maze, pumpkin picking and every person who entered got a free sugar pumpkin. The weekend they had petting zoo, pony rides, food trucks
We also had cider & donuts, a membership table and spirit wear. This was a 3 day event.

PTA sponsored Room parents
to coordinate classroom celebrations, activities and to also collect for teacher gifts during holidays/end of the year and celebrate our fabulous teacher/support staff during Teacher appreciation week.
Purchased and Supplied Books for both of our book vending machines at Oak Tree & Applegarth
Purchased & Supplied Books for the Narley’s Little Library outside of Oak Tree. The little library was provided to the community in March of 2021. Mr. John Gleason and Oak Tree is the steward of this little library.

Hosted Scholastic Book fairs multiple days at both schools.
Donated books to class libraries and to the school libraries.

FREE Summer STEAM workshops 4 different ones- Hosted earlier in the month. Completely free event.
